METHOD OF COUNTERING THE IMPACT OF DEMOGRAPHY ON DEMOCRACY
Although many countries have switched over to democracy in the same way as Russia switched over to the democratic system in 1991 after the collapse of the Soviet Union, it has turned out that democracy is also not a holy cow.
It has its own drawbacks.
Somebody has, very beautifully, depicted one of its drawbacks through the following cartoon.
The fact is — Italy is not the only country facing such crisis.
All democratic countries are facing this problem to some or more extent.
We may, as well, call it the “Weak Nerve of Democracy”.
Since the Muslim countries have been able to not only identify this weakness of democracy — they have been able to even exploit this weakness of democracy to their advantage by accelerating the rate of growth of their population, it makes us curious to know — if Muslim countries have been able to accelerate the rate of growth of their population, “Why non-Muslim countries have not been able to follow the suit?”
It is so because their religion has such features that have made it convenient for the Muslims to accelerate the rate of growth of their population by leaps and bounds, while other religions do not have such features.
The fact is, under the present pattern of democracy, every citizen is allowed to cast their vote during elections held to decide which political party will rule the country.
Muslims have not only been too quick to sense this weakness of the form of democracy being followed in all democratic countries of the world at present, but they have also decided to change the demography of all democratic countries by increasing their number as fast as possible.
Muslims have not only been too quick to sense this weakness of the form of democracy being followed in all democratic countries of the world at present, but they have also decided to change the demography of all democratic countries by increasing their number as fast as possible.
For instance, take the case of Indonesia.
Though it was a Hindu country way back, it has become a Muslim country now.
What is true about Indonesia is equally true of Persia, which was one of the world’s oldest monotheistic religions founded by the prophet Zoroaster.
This religion is now primarily followed only in India and Iran, with smaller communities in a few other parts of the world, though it was the dominant religion of the Persian Empire.
The majority of modern-day Persians practice Shia Islam.
Around 100 years ago, this country allowed around 4000 Muslims to settle there out of benevolence, but today, not even a single Persian is left in this country.
What has happened to the Zoroastrian religion is going to be the ultimate fate of all other religions — sooner or later.
Though it is true that even Hindus are facing the same situation in their home country today, in the case of their religion, obviously — if it is so, it can’t be without any plausible reasons.
We don’t have to struggle too much to look for the likely reasons.
We can sum up the reasons as follows.
UNIQUE FEATURES OF ISLAM THAT HAVE MADE IT POSSIBLE FOR THE MUSLIMS TO WIN THE RACE
Although it did not matter much in the past when productivity was not an issue, the best thing about Islam is that, as a rule, they pray as many as five times a day, preferably in a mosque.
These prayers, known as Namaz (Salah), are performed at dawn, noon, mid-afternoon, sunset, and after dark.
(i) Fajr is performed at dawn.
(ii) Dhuhr is performed at midday.
(iii) Asr is performed in the afternoon.
(iv) Maghrib is performed at sunset.
(v) Isha is performed at night.
While they can pray even individually at any location, they are encouraged to pray together in a mosque, especially for the midday prayer on Friday.
Though the prayers involve specific rituals, including reciting verses from the Quran and performing physical movements like standing, bowing, and prostration, such gatherings have turned out to be a boon for them since such gatherings give an opportunity to their priests to communicate to everyone the decisions taken by them to spread their religion all over the world.
One of such decisions was to increase their population.
Another feature of Islam that has helped them to change the demography of various countries is the provision of marrying as many as four wives.
Besides these two features, most Muslim countries have also made a provision of imposing severe penalties, such as even the death penalty, for leaving their religion (apostasy).
Some countries have made a provision of imposing imprisonment, social stigma, or other forms of punishments.
Am I right — no non-Muslim country has made such provisions for punishing anyone who may leave their religion like this?
Though we may condemn “apostasy” on humanitarian grounds, it can’t be denied that, unlike other religions — Islam gave more importance to make provisions that may help them to increase their population in the world and less importance to be humanistic.
Besides it, their holy book has assured a great allurement to those who may die while saving their religion such as “Allah shall provide as many as 72 beautiful nymphs for enjoyment in heaven to such persons who may lay their life to promote their religion, after death”.
No wonder these features of Islam have gone a long way to help them to change the demography of the non-Muslim and secular countries.
Another wise step they have taken is
— to enter a non-Muslim country as a refugee and start increasing their percentage by leaps and bounds.
Due to all such reasons, democracy has turned out to be a boon in disguise for them.
So don’t you think it calls for switching over to some such format of democracy that may save the other religions from meeting the same fate as the Zoroastrian religion has met?
Just think, why have Christians and Hindus not been able to spread their religion at such a speed as the speed with which the followers of Islam have been able to spread their religion to increase their population to, eventually, hold the reins of the democratic governments in their hands?
The impact of demographic changes may be countered in the following manner.
THE MANNER IN WHICH THE IMPACT OF DEMOGRAPHIC CHANGES MAY BE COUNTERED
It is never too late to take the necessary steps to avert any impending crisis.
So it would be beneficial for all democratic countries to take such steps as have been suggested by me hereunder.
Time has come when it has become necessary to restrict the rights of all adult citizens of democratic countries in the following manner.
The democratic countries should, henceforth, allow only such citizens to cast their vote, who may be willing to abide to the policies framed by their countries — instead of allowing every citizen to cast their vote in the elections held to decide which political party shall hold the reins of a country.
The impending crisis may be averted only by defining who is privileged to have voting rights and who may not have such privilege by following a system that may be known as “Voter-ship Eligibility System”.
“Under this system, anybody aged below some specific age (say, 30 years) having more than three siblings should not have any voting rights for the formation of the government in a democratic country irrespective of the religion followed by them.”
Of course, for the purpose of calculating the number of siblings, it would be better if the twins, the triplets and the quadruplets are treated only as one sibling and in the case of married women, their eligibility to vote may depend on the number of siblings of their husbands, irrespective of whether they are alive or not.
A system of issuing a “Green Voter Eligibility Card” to every citizen who may be eligible to cast their vote based on the number of their siblings once they attain such age as may be considered appropriate by each democratic country.
